Our wallet review process
We examine wallets starting at the code level and continue all the way up to the finished app that lives on your device. Provided below is an outline of each of these steps along with security tips for you and general test results.
Application build test result
Start Wallet is a non-custodial decentralized wallet that will store your private key in a local sandbox file on the device. You can store, send and receive all tokens in this wallet.
The app was not compatible with our device, but we were able to download a Windows version of the application. It has BTC support, with the capability to export and import the private keys.
There is a GitHub page linked in the StartEOS homepage, but it does not seem to point to the Android app. The repositories on its GitHub page are the following:
- jeos - StartEOS Java/Android EOS LIBs
- dappsdk - a dapp sdk
- dappsdk-android - a library for Android native dapp
- DappSDK-JS - (no description)
- dappsdk-iOS - a library for iOS native dapp
- ScanProtocol - Forked from ScanProtocol/ScanProtocol
We could not locate the source code for the project.

Do your own research
In addition to reading our analysis, it is important to do your own checks. Before transferring any bitcoin to your wallet, look up reviews for the wallet you want to use. They should be easy to find. If they aren't, that itself is a reason to be extra careful.
